Advazorb Border is a soft and conforming self-adherent absorbent hydrophilic polyurethane foam/film dressing designed to absorb and retain fluid within the dressing to promote a moist wound environment beneficial to healing.

The soft Silfix® silicone is hydrophobic and will only adhere to surrounding dry skin (not to the wet wound area) and provides gentle release providing atraumatic removal/change. Silfix® dressings are designed not to damage newly formed granulating tissue or epithelial cells.

The pink backing prevents strike through and protects the wound from bacteria and helps to prolong comfortable wear time.

* Hydrophilic literally translates as "water loving" or "water friend." Hydrophilic substances are attracted to, and dissolve well within, water. Because hydrophilic membranes will not be fouled with oil, grease or dirt, contaminants are kept away from the membrane so it remains clean and functioning for longer. Hydrophilic properties of certain substances are essential where sterility is an issue. Hydrophilic coatings or materials become wet very easily, and maintain the wetness for longer than a hydrophobic (water repelling substances) equivalent would.

[how to use]

Remove clear liners apply pink side up to the wound ensuring the central foam pad dovers the entire wound area and a minimum overlap of 2 cm around the edges of the wound.

[frequency of change]

Can be left in place for up to 5 days but sbould be changed immediately when dressing reaches its absorption capacity. It the borders of the dressing begin to lift this is a clear indication that a dressing change is required. Clinical observation is necessary to optimise the frequency of dressing changes in exuding wounds.
